What You Can Do with a Charter
The Custom Charter has no fixed route. Working with you before the flight, we design an itinerary based on what you want to see and how much time you have. Common charter requests include: a complete circumnavigation of Bali covering areas not in the standard island tour, direct flights to Lombok or the Gili Islands, island-hopping across Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, extended time over specific volcanic or cultural sites, early morning wildlife observation flights, and aerial photography missions with specific lighting requirements. We have operated charters for documentary filmmakers, wedding photographers, corporate groups, geological survey teams, and individual travelers who simply know exactly what they want.
Corporate and Group Travel
Helicopter charter provides efficient point-to-point travel between Bali and other Indonesian islands. The flight time from Bali to Lombok is approximately 30-35 minutes (compared to 2+ hours by fast boat). Bali to Nusa Penida is 8-10 minutes. For corporate groups, a charter can combine a business transfer with a scenic component — we can arrange a routing that passes over the Bali highlands or coast on the way to a destination. Multiple aircraft can be coordinated for groups larger than 4 passengers. We can arrange ground transfers at origin and destination.

Bali sits in an archipelago of remarkable islands within easy helicopter range. Nusa Penida (10 minutes), Nusa Lembongan (12 minutes), Lombok (35 minutes), and the Gili Islands (45-50 minutes) are all accessible for same-day excursions. A charter to Lombok, for example, could combine an aerial view of Bali's eastern coast, the crossing of the Lombok Strait, a low-altitude pass over the Gili Islands, and arrival at Lombok's coast or airport before a ground tour and the return flight in the afternoon. We can coordinate ground arrangements at destination islands as part of the charter package.

The Custom Charter is priced at $600 per flight hour, with a 1-hour minimum. This is per-aircraft, not per-person, so the per-person cost for 4 passengers is $150/hour. Longer charters receive a discounted rate. Additional costs may include landing fees at non-standard helipads and any ground arrangements at the destination.
Can I fly to Lombok or the Gili Islands on a charter?
Yes. Lombok is approximately 35 minutes from Bali, the Gilis are 45-50 minutes. Inter-island flights require additional customs and immigration documentation. We handle all the regulatory requirements on our end; you need a valid passport. We can coordinate ground transport and accommodation on Lombok through our network of partners.
What is the minimum booking time for a charter?
The minimum charter is 1 flight hour. For day-trip island-hopping (for example Bali to Lombok, ground time, return), we recommend booking at least 3-4 flight hours to allow for the crossings and any desired aerial coverage en route. We are flexible and will help you design the most efficient itinerary for your goals.
Can I use the charter for a doors-off photography flight?
Yes. Doors-off operation requires specific aircraft configuration and additional safety briefing. This is available on our Photography Flight (which includes doors-off as standard) and can be arranged on charter. The doors-off setup requires minimum 48 hours notice and is subject to weather conditions. For dedicated photography missions, the Photography Flight (60 min, $550) may be more cost-effective.
Is it safe to fly in a helicopter over Bali?
Absolutely. Our helicopters are maintained to international aviation standards with regular inspections. All pilots hold commercial helicopter licenses with thousands of flight hours. We carry full aviation insurance and comply with Indonesian civil aviation regulations.
